DING CHURCH IS DONE!!!11

"Now the refurbishment is complete, they'll be noone to stop us this time!"

About 20 minutes ago I finally finished re-furnishing the church! It all came about because I found a load of gold in my precious ores chest that I had apparently been hoarding away! There was about 48 gold ore which I knew would get me 5 gold blocks, so I smelted it down, went to the church, and there were exactly 5 blocks left to do! I also changed the top of the single tower which was a mish-mash of cobble and stone-brick from the original look. It was only on the top row, sitting on top of the birch plank walls of the tower.. I chopped down a near by birch tree and changed it to birch planks to square it off, but I also wanted to give that tower a soul sand roof as well like the rest of the church. As well as bring the ends of the old church roof out by 1 - 2 blocks to give it more depth and definition.

My only regret is after completing it I realized maybe I should have just made the cross out of Glowstone?! Anyway, without further a do, here's a look back up to completion:

Ye old church.

The gloomy cobble interior, before the lighting overhaul, check out hose stone seats!
The new outside, a wall and more aesthetic grounds within the walls.

The start of a whole new change..

All that's left is the steps leading up to the church.

Secret Treasure/back to square #1

So work on renovating StrongHolm II is going well despite a few set backs.  I now have a nicely laid floor in my front room, a storage room and a carrot/potato/melon farm and am rapidly gaining storage items. Getting a feel for the place to, although some signs have had to go up.

This is the entrance as it was:

This hallway is just up from some stairs from the End portal room where there are stairs to the exit. For now I have just cleared out the cells for a nice open hallway:

Having said this, whilst writing this entry I had an idea and might re-install the cells as a "cloak/armor" room to hang up your gear! Same set up as it was except maybe a nice wooden floor and trip-wire hooks as coat pegs? Will then change corridor outside up to living area.. maybe.

In the front room, leading on from that hallway is the living area. At first I laid down spruce plank floors but because of the nature of Misa's texture pack it didn't feel right for the front room, so laid down a traditional Oak floor instead. The spruce floor wood ended up being used for the storage room instead.

Opposite the door for the bedroom (The one with the item frame above it) is the corridor for the storage area. The bedroom isn't much right now and isn't worth showing, down some stairs and it's just a small stone-brick room, very small, just enough for a bed.

Up the stairs leads to a passage way with two naturally generated fountains, after which an Iron door leads down some stairs to secret treasures! (As mentioned in the title) I'll get to that shortly. The wooden door now leads to the farms I have now made thanks to drops from mobs I got carrots and potatoes and I also found a couple of dungeons and found melon seeds in a chest so I now have infinite melon supplies!

When I get more wood, those dirt markers will be replaced with chest, but for now they are just markers. I only dug a "Downstairs" tonight, (After getting inspired by the generated library), but I knew that if I wanted furnace space (+ lava incinerators etc) I would have to dig into the wall to make it bigger and replace with stone brick, so I opted for a "downstairs" instead.

Admittedly I did remove the torches and let it sit in the dark for a while so I could generate those bats! As you can see I'll have the infinite water source down here as well, and that big cobblestone squared hole (2nd to last picture) will be the lava incinerator. Tiny bit worried about the bats flying into it though!. This room is exactly the same measurements as the storage room above it.

I may have a glass floor in the middle of the above room so I can see down into this room. I did want an open middle like in the library but I'm not sure if that could work or not.

Through the wooden door in the corridor we get to the farms after crossing over another "Slab arch" from said door. (Like the one leading to storage.) Underneath that arch is the original infinite water source I used to create the farms and fill the trenches.

All of this has been at a cost however. That corridor that leads to the storage room has, as I said, a stairway leading up to a room with x2 naturally generated fountains and stairs down to secret treasure.. I had been down there previously and I thought it was just more cells, however I didn't go further as I had ran out of torches. When i went back and lit the corridor up, I found the corridor dipped of to an area below, but not a cave.. I saw a rail-track! Yep an abandoned mine!

I come across some good treasures and even saw Emerald in the walls! (First time in-game seeing Emerald ore!) In fact I could've got more of the rich greens stuff from a wall in another leading corridor below me. Unfortunately, the a creeper popped up and blew down there and took out the ore with it. I was poisoned  ganged up in a zombie dungeon and killed (My fault for getting stuck in a corner . Stupid fence posts in mines..), blown up and more. When I went back to the zombie dungeon my stuff had gone, I had rushed back and it did not seem like 5 minutes+ time wise but I lost everything on me - a couple of emerald, gold, iron, precious stuff. I've only managed to find one diamond. I have find more emerald though, including 1 ore in the below storage room when I was digging it out which was... strange. Giving me a total of 6 emerald currently, and I'm not done with the mine yet.

I've still got a wheat farm to make yet and I want to finish the lower level storage room off, furnish the living room etc. Still plenty more to do, and more adventure to be had in the abandoned mines! I have a plethora of oak trees nearer my entrance of the surface now and am slowly growing pine trees nearer in that same area so they're bit close to home too. Once I find more diamond for a diamond pick, I'm off to find obsidian to go to the nether and collect blaze powder and Glowstone.

StrongHolm II: The Second Coming

If you're not familiar with my previous attempt with StrongHolm, I've decided to give it another go.

Basically the idea was to renovate a stronghold into a home, unfortunately I leapt on the idea so quickly - I did it when the end portals were in the game but never actually worked at first. The one in the previous attempt would never ever work. The other day I did start to renovate again, which was my intention and started laying down a spruce wood floor, the first proper step to making it a home. Then I realized about the portal and decided it was just better to start a new world in snapshot 40a and try again.

So I created a world and changed the game temporarily to creative so I could find a stronghold and it lead me far across the lands and across the mountains.. In fact when I began to get close I had no long passed a NPC village which was just a few hills away from "the spot" and so would be very handy!

360 of the area:

I am using Misa's 64 x 64 Realistic texture pack. (Just ignore the unpatched textures)

I sat down and changed the gamemode back to survival and used the shovel from the bonus chest and broke the first golden rule and dug straight down, hoping the ender pearls weren't wrong and I would just end up in lava. (And yes I did chuck the ender pearls away before going to survival. It goes legit here on in.) Thankfully I got rich - in coal at least, on the way down but it's always needed, and I hit a huge vein. Even found a bit of iron too and upgraded the pick for a faster descent. When I broke through however I didn't land on stairs to go down like last time however, but right onto the very end portal itself.

I also found a number of chests down there, I didn't really know they had secret chests down there, but then I haven't explored any new ones since the original stronghold. Some nice treasures though from Iron ingots to redstone, bread iron helmet and leggings(!) and eventually an iron chest plate, 1 enderpearl etc.

More pictures from my adventure around:

Not far away from those last few places I found a proper cave system, left and right from where I was. left was dark and mysterious but I found brown mushrooms growing, (I also know where red mushrooms are growing above ground but had a full inventory by then) and to the right was a cave  with a lava fall. After much wandering around I haven't found a natural way up (yet) so just dug a natural double-wide stair case shaft up on the other side of the End portal room. (Which led to the very full inventory!)

I did want to keep the rainbow silverfish spawner as it was kinda pretty (:p), but it got too annoying in the end with them. Lots of xp from them though. As you can see, by the time I actually explored the NPC village farm, I had a full inventory! I did encounter slimes as well in the stronghold. Still can't believe one of those chests had a diamond! Switched to default as I rooted around for space for carrots  and potatoes, but at least I will be able to grown my own when i find a suitable place.

To-do list:
*Make chest for stuff! (DONE)
*Make bed for setting spawn (DONE, but haven't slept yet.)
*Start making a home out of stronghold (Living area, kitchen, bedroom storage, nice above ground entrance)
*Make wheat/carrot and potato farms!
*Find more diamonds
*Make Portal/goto nether
*Collect Blaze rods from Blazes/enderpearls from Enderman/Make Enderpearls
*Continue to make home nice and as substantial as possible to be a strong enough to go to the End/defeat end boss/dragon.

Light changes..

So as I plan a build (On my creative copy) for the horrible chunk error wall next tot the hotel at the Chunk Plaza development, i've be...
